The benefits of halal food

Food, fashion and cosmetics. In Ukraine, a growing number of restaurants and companies offer products permitted by Islamic law. Halal cuisine is mainly associated with Muslims and the book of the Quran. By the number of believers, Islam is the second religion in the world. Therefore, halal food industry is experiencing a real boom due to the growing number of Muslims and not only that. Today we will talk about why halal food is becoming more popular and in-demand all over the world, how it affects health, and what to look for when buying it.

What is halal food?

Halal cuisine includes dishes that Muslims eat. Its main difference is that it does not contain products prohibited by the Quran. The word "halal" means anything that complies with Islamic law. For this reason, halal food can be eaten without fear of non-compliance with current regulations. The choice of this food is a necessity and has a religious ground for the followers of Islam.

Halal and health

Islamic law emphasizes explicitly the essence of allowing or prohibiting certain food sources. According to Islam, it can influence a person's health, development, well-being and behavior. Although this concept is usually applied to Muslims, it is also gaining in popularity in non-Muslim circles. This is due to increased consumer awareness of their health. Indeed, in recent years, there has been a clear trend of people towards healthy food choices and a healthy lifestyle in general.

They want to eat food that ensures proper body functioning and improves well-being and quality of life. For Muslims, halal certification proves that a given product has been prepared following the principles of Islam. However, non-Muslim consumers tend to also have positive attitude to these products because they understand that they are hygienic and safe.

There is no doubt that halal food is slowly taking over the world. It would be unreasonable to argue with this. Halal is associated with a complete commitment to production and encompasses its various aspects. These include, among others, clothing, equipment, food and beverage production facilities. Halal is a symbol of food quality and safety, and therefore the health benefits of the consumer. People who choose halal food can rest assured that the meat comes from a healthy animal. The selected products are free from pollutants and harmful microbes.

Should you use halal products?

Muslims cannot refuse halal food. People of other faiths often choose halal foods of their own accord. According to research, non-Muslims often choose this food because of its safety and higher standards. The quality of these products is better than most other products that are available in supermarkets.

Halal Spices - delicious taste and health benefits

Dishes made with ingredients obtained by Islamic laws are worth trying. Their taste is enriched with aromatic spices. They have many positive effects on the body, including improving the process of losing weight. By the way, the topic of herbs is worthy of a separate conversation, since in many ways, thanks to their use in halal cuisine, real culinary masterpieces are born. These spices have a positive effect on the body. Let's consider the most popular ones:

  • Curry. It has anti-cancer properties. Due to curcumin content, prostate cancer formation is suppressed, the secretion of gastric juice and enzymes is stimulated, and cholesterol levels are reduced.
  • Saffron. The active ingredients in it have anti-inflammatory, antioxidant and antidepressant properties. In addition, saffron is a source of many vitamins, helps in the treatment of infertility, supports the process of losing weight, and is a natural aphrodisiac.

In addition to their beneficial properties, these spices impart a unique flavor to halal dishes.

Halal food and weight loss: another reason for popularity

Halal food can positively affect the process of losing weight through the use of unusual spices. Chili, cinnamon, cardamom and curry have special. The presence of capsaicin in chili seasoning stimulates the burning of excess and unwanted calories. Therefore, consuming it regularly can increase your metabolic rate.

Cinnamon has a cleansing effect and supports digestion. In addition, it regulates blood glucose levels, which is very important when shedding extra pounds. Cardamom stimulates the digestive juices, thereby speeding up the metabolism. These spices also have many other benefits, so it is advisable to use them not only in halal kitchens.

How do non-Muslims view halal food or why it is so popular around the world?

Halal food is synonymous with safety and high-quality food. As a result, adherents of other religions show interest and sympathy for her. A study showed that out of 250 people, only 18 did not have a positive relationship with halal cuisine and did not try it.

Halal food is consumed by Muslims and non-Muslims, especially in countries where Islam is the dominant religion. The reason is mainly in the large selection and competition of the producers of this food. In addition, consumers outside of the Muslim community are believed to prefer spending more money on halal products due to their higher standards.

Halal food - food labels

The label indicates whether the product is manufactured following the principles of halal. However, the graphic design and halal signs cannot mean that this food is healthier than other products available on the market.

The sign, first of all proves that the food meets all the requirements of Islamic law and is completely safe. Pay attention to its presence because you can find products that do not meet halal conditions.

Halal food - what to look for when buying?

When buying halal products, you should pay attention to the composition. Unfortunately, one of the traps of consumers is the deliberate full or partial substitution of some ingredients for others. This is called product falsification. The reason for the falsification is the lower price of the substitute. This scam is a problem for many countries.

Manufacturers often use lard, which is forbidden for Muslims because of its origin (from pigs), as a substitute for butter. Therefore, it would be advisable to develop a method that would allow the detection of fat in halal products so that people who practice Islam can use them without fear of violating the principles set out in the book of the Quran.

Why is halal food conquering the world?

Modern food has various flavor substitutes, chemical flavors, dyes, genetically modified ingredients, preservatives. As they affect the body, many are recognized as unsafe, and some are entirely carcinogenic. Because of this, more and more people are striving for the transition to a healthy diet.
